What teachers are saying about Playbook:
“I have really enjoyed these Plays! I have just completed my first-year teaching in the self-contained environment. I loved every second of it, but these Plays were essential in my growth. I especially loved the one on progress monitoring. I fully intend to sign up for more opportunities in the future. These Plays should be given to all first-year teachers!”
“This {Play} was very helpful, and I will use the steps and strategies to help train and remind myself and my paraprofessionals of things that we can use.”
Playbook is a virtual learning platform that combines self-paced modules, called Plays, with coaching, mentoring, and collaboration experiences. Playbook topics span an array of best-practices for special education teachers, including: using progress monitoring to assess IEP goals, conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment, applying Universal Design for Learning strategies, using positive behavioral strategies, and more!
Through the virtual Playbook platform, special education teachers will complete activities and interact with resources and research designed to hone their implementation of these practices.
The eight plays in Special Education Teacher Playbook are:
Play 1 - Build Collaborative Teams of Educators
Play 2 - Implement Classroom Systems and Routines
Play 3 - Applying Universal Design for Learning
Play 4 - Complete a Functional Behavior Assessment
Play 5 - Use Formative Assessment to Improve Achievement
Play 6 - Read Evaluations for Information on Student Performance
Play 7 - Use Progress Monitoring to Assess IEP Goals
Play 8 - Build Relationships with Families
The Special Education Teacher Playbook will kick off with a live Zoom event. Registrants will receive an overview of the platform and have the opportunity to ask questions before starting the plays.
